Fourth Clause: T’vir

Welcome back from Winter Break!

On Sunday, January 3, we began learning the fourth clause of Torah Trope: T’vir.  T’vir is a relatively simple clause because there are only 2 new trope symbols, Darga and T’vir.  This clause utilizes a few other tropes such as Mercha and Kadma, but these all already well known to our students.  In our color coding system, this clause is blue.  With only two new symbols to process, we were able to learn the entire clause in one day.

Next Sunday we will be moving onto our fifth clause R’vi-i.  I am so proud of how are students are soaking up Torah Trope.  They will not only be prepared to tackle their B’nai Mitzvah studies in the spring, but will be life-long Torah readers.  As we near the conclusion of our Trope study for Torah, I will be sending information home about our Torah Trope Challenge – a final assessment before we begin our studies of Haftarah Trope.
