On Sunday, our students completed presenting their choices for our class Tzedakah צדקה project.  Each student had the chance to present their charity or organization and tell us a little bit about why their cause was worthy of our class’s collection.  After several rounds of voting and discussion, our class has chosen St. Baldrick’s Foundation for Childhood Cancer and Water 1st International.  The class set a goal of $275, and has chosen to give St. Baldrick’s 2/3 of our collection, and Water 1st 1/3.

Part of what was so compelling about these two organizations were the videos that were shared.  The class hasn’t just chosen St. Baldrick’s, but a specific child, Benny M. of Park Ridge, who is raising money for them.  Check out Benny’s amazing and story here:

Water 1st also made a compelling video that described why people all around the world are desperate for clean and safe drinking water, and exactly how we could help:
