Coming to a close

We have had quite a year, and it is amazing to me that we are almost at the end of it. Our final T’filah (prayer) Project group presented the Mourner’s Kaddish today.  I am exceedingly proud of the effort, work and presentations of this class.  Your projects really inspired me!  Kol HaKavod.

Another major accomplishment, is our Tzedakah collection.  Thus far, this class has raised $290.90 to benefit the Wright-Way Animal Rescue in Morton Grove.  I am sure by the end of the year, we will be able to give them a check for $300.  Feel proud of your efforts – we are going to help a lot of animals.

Now for some housekeeping.  I wanted to give you some reminders about these last few weeks of class:

  1. Sunday, May 8 we will complete the Haftarah Trope Challenge.  For those of you who were in class last week, you only need to complete the third part, chanting trope for Isaiah Chapter 58, verses 5-6.  If you were absent on 5/1, then you need to complete all three parts this Sunday.
  2. Sunday, May 8 is also our last Sunday Seminar with Rabbi from 8:30-10:00 a.m.  Our final seminar will take place on SATURDAY, May 21 from 10:30-1:00 p.m. and includes Shacharit (morning) Shabbat Services with a luncheon following.
  3. Wednesday, May 11 will include a brief all-school observance of Yom HaZikaron in the sanctuary at 5:30 p.m. Parents are welcome to attend.
  4. Sunday, May 15 – Last Sunday.  If you borrowed any classroom textbooks, please return them by 5/15.
  5. Wednesday, May 18 – Last Wednesday.  CLASS CELEBRATION & Final Thoughts
  6. PARENTS – I highly encourage you all to attend the TBI Gala on Saturday, May 21 at 6:00 p.m. RSVP for An Evening in Paradise here.  Dress is Island Chic 🙂
